Class 11 took part in a fantastic workshop with Amanda Morrow all about ‘Electricity’. We discussed what a circuit is and all of the components that are used to make a circuit. In pairs, we investigated building different circuits and how to draw these using the correct scientific symbols. In the afternoon, we created our own model circuits featuring a light up component.
All year 6 pupils interviewed Father Dever to learn all about becoming a priest. Pupils asked Father Dever questions about his vocation and training and the kind of things he does on a daily basis and learned a great deal. Thank you Father Dever.
To consolidate our learning about the function of the heart in the circulatory system we dissected lamb’s hearts to identify and explore the various parts.
We enjoyed a design technology workshop with Amanda Morrow. We learnt all about pulleys and gears and made our own moving vehicles.
Class 11 enjoyed a trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelters as part of our World War Two history topic. We enjoyed dressing up as evacuees for the day and learnt lots of information about life on the home front.
Class 11 visited Lyme Park for an orienteering workshop. We learnt how to use a compass to locate various point on a map and had lots of fun making our own 3D maps of a location personal to us.
Greater Manchester Fire Service visited our Year 6 pupils to explain how to stay safe during Halloween and Bonfire Night. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
